OpenLab Storage System Test
Verifies functionality for storing, securing, and maintaining files and folders. The specific verifications performed depend on the type of storage system in use (Local File System, OpenLab ECM, or Secure Storage).
License
This test requires a license. For Workstation Plus systems, the license is included. For other configurations, the license must be purchased and installed separately.
Contact Agilent support if you need additional licenses. Licenses are installed from the Licenses option in the OpenLab Control Panel Administration tab.
Prerequisites
- The appropriate storage license must be installed.
- The System Administrator role with the Manage Security privilege is required to execute this test.
- If you are using Domain authentication with Secure Storage, the test must be configured before it becomes available — see Configuring for Secure Storage with Domain authentication below.
- If you are using OpenLab ECM as a storage provider, the test may optionally be configured — see Configuring for OpenLab ECM below.
Running the test
Follow the general test execution steps: select OpenLab Storage System Test on the home page and click Start.
For Domain authentication with Secure Storage, a Configure button appears below the test on the home page. You must complete configuration before the test becomes available for execution.
Configuration
Secure Storage with Domain authentication
Configuration is required when using Secure Storage with Domain authentication. The configuration is performed once and applied globally to all machines in a client/server environment. Once set on one machine, it appears on all other machines within 3 minutes.
- Click Configure to open the Test Configuration form.
- Enter credentials for two test users:
- A Test Services admin user
- A non-admin user
- Optionally, select Remove users at the end of the test.
- Click OK.
If Remove users at the end of the test is selected and the Security Test and Storage System Test are run simultaneously, the Storage test may fail with "Account is not authorized in this system. Contact system administrator." This occurs when the Security test deletes shared test users before the Storage test finishes.
To avoid this, configure different test users for the Security and Storage tests.
OpenLab ECM as a storage provider
- Click Configure to open the Test Configuration form.
- Verify quick search by uploading a file and searching for it is selected by default. The test uploads a file and waits for it to be processed and indexed before searching. You can adjust the timeout for this step. Default is 300 seconds; maximum is 9999 seconds.
- Click OK.
After the test
Results appear on the home page under Last result. Click the link to open the Storage System Test report, or use the Execution History page to access reports from previous runs.
