Available tests
Test Services provides a suite of verification tests, contributed by the framework and its plug-ins. The tests available on a machine depend on its deployment type and on which plug-ins and licenses are installed. When Test Services runs on a machine, only the tests available for that machine appear.
Tests by deployment type
The following table lists each test, the tasks it performs, and its availability on each deployment type. In the table, AIC is the Analytical Instrument Controller.

Workflow Test on a Client: shown but cannot run; requires acquisition software (an AIC or Workstation).
The availability values mean:
- Available. The test runs on this deployment type. Where a license is required, the test runs only after the license is installed.
- Not recommended. The test can be shown but is not part of the recommended set for this deployment type. Select Show all tests on the home page to display it.
- Not available. The test does not apply to this deployment type and is never shown.
Licenses
The Security Test, Storage System Test, and Workflow Test require a license. All applicable licenses are included with OpenLab CDS Workstation Plus systems; for other OpenLab CDS products, the licenses are purchased and installed separately. For which license enables which test, see Licensing.
Plug-ins
The Workflow Test and the Connectivity Test are contributed by the OpenLab CDS plug-in. If a plug-in is not installed, its tests do not appear. See The plug-in framework.
