Log out and end your session

End your Test Services session when you finish, or let an idle session end on its own. Logging out returns you to the login page so the next person must log in with their own account.

Prerequisites

Log out manually

The logout menu is in the lower-left corner of the application and shows which account is logged in.

  1. In the lower-left corner of any Test Services page, open the user menu.

The menu shows the logged-in user's name and a Logout option.

  2. Click Logout.

Your session ends and the login page opens.

On a file-based workstation configured with no authentication, there is no session to sign out of, so the Logout option is not shown.

note

Logging out does not stop a verification run that is in progress. A run started by you or by another user keeps running on the server after you log out.

Automatic logout after inactivity

Test Services logs you out automatically after a period of inactivity. The length of that period is set by your administrator in the OpenLab CDS Control Panel security policy and applies to each browser session separately. Any click or key press resets the inactivity timer for the current session, so the timer counts only idle time.

When the inactivity period is almost over, a dialog appears with a 30-second countdown and warns that the session is about to end. If you do nothing, you are logged out when the countdown reaches zero and the login page opens.

To stay logged in, click Continue before the countdown reaches zero. The session is extended and you remain on the current page.

note

If your administrator sets the inactivity time to 0, the session does not time out and no warning dialog appears.
